The American supernatural horror film, Final Destination (2000), was directed by James Wong and written by Wong, Glen Morgan, and Jeffrey Reddick. It is based on a story by Reddick. High school student Alex Browning and his classmates prepare to depart for their senior trip to Paris on Volée Airlines Flight 180 from John F. Kennedy Airport. However, Alex has a premonition of a mechanical failure causing a mid-air explosion that will kill everyone on board. As the events in his vision start coming true, Alex becomes increasingly panicked. A heated altercation between him and his rival Carter Horton breaks out, resulting in both of them being kicked off the plane along with Alex’s best friend Tod Waggner, Carter’s girlfriend Terry Chaney, teacher Valerie Lewton, and students Billy Hitchcock and Clear Rivers.
Despite Clear being the only other one who believes him about the danger they were all just narrowly saved from upon take-off when the plane explodes. After the initial interrogation by FBI agents Weine and Schreck, who both harbor suspicions about Alex, the survivors attend a memorial service for the victims. However, thirty-nine days later, an unexpected chain of events leads to Tod’s accidental hanging in his shower that night. Although officially ruled a suicide, Alex and Clear sneak into the funeral home to examine Tod’s body. The mortician, William Bludworth, informs them that their escape from Death’s plan has caused it to redirect its efforts towards those who were meant to die in the accident. As Alex and Clear discuss their next steps, Terry is tragically killed by a speeding bus outside the café where they are gathered with the rest of the survivors.
