Finding Nemo (2003) is a heartwarming and humorous adventure from Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures. Marlin, a clownfish living in the Great Barrier Reef with his wife Coral, anxiously awaits the arrival of their eggs. However, their joyful anticipation is cut short when they are attacked by a barracuda, leaving Marlin as the sole protector of their only surviving egg. Fast forward six years and Marlin’s overprotective nature has only grown as he sends his son Nemo off to school. But Nemo’s rebellious streak leads to him getting captured by scuba divers. Desperate to find his son, Marlin meets Dory, a blue tang with a forgetful memory who offers her assistance. On their journey, they come across Bruce and his fellow shark friends who have made a promise not to eat fish. In their encounter, Dory’s blood causes an unexpected frenzy that leaves both Marlin and Dory unconscious.
Nemo finds himself in a fish tank belonging to dentist Philip Sherman in Sydney. There, he meets Gill, the leader of the ‘Tank Gang’, who informs Nemo that he will soon be given to Darla, Sherman’s niece notorious for accidentally killing previous pets. Gill, determined to escape and return to the ocean, comes up with a plan: Nemo must block the filter tube with a pebble so that when Sherman cleans the tank, they can roll out of the window and into the harbor. However, Nemo’s attempts fail and he nearly loses his life. Marlin and Dory are awakened by this commotion but then face another challenge – retrieving their fallen mask from a deep trench while being chased by an anglerfish. Luckily, Dory manages to read the address on the mask before they narrowly escape. The two are later guided through the East Australian Current by a group of moonfish but end up getting stung and knocked out by a forest of jellyfish. When they come to, they find themselves surrounded by sea turtles including Crush and his son Squirt, who happily share their tales while journeying along with Marlin’s quest across the vast ocean all the way to Sydney.
