Flywheel (2003)
Flywheel (2003) is an American Christian drama film that follows the story of Jay Austin, a used car dealer who undergoes a transformation when he decides to turn from his deceitful ways. Despite attending church at the request of his wife Judy, Jay cheats his customers and even overcharges his own pastor. He teaches his colleagues Bernie Meyers and Vince Berkeley to do the same. However, as Jay’s relationships with Judy and their son Richie suffer due to his dishonesty, he starts feeling conflicted about his actions. One day, while flipping through channels on TV, he comes across a pastor preaching about the consequences of our choices in life. As he faces foreclosure on his lot by the bank, Jay begins to question his conscience.
After experiencing a personal revelation and redefining his faith in Christianity, Jay is motivated to revamp his business practices. As part of this transformation, he humbly apologizes to both Judy and his son before committing to conducting car sales with integrity from then on. Unfortunately, this shift in approach has put him in a difficult financial situation, owing thousands of dollars to the bank and risking the potential closure of his dealership. Despite these challenges, Jay entrusts the fate of his business to God and chooses not to dwell on his predicament. His reliance on divine intervention is interrupted when two jovial salesmen leave due to disagreements over the new ethical framework. In their place comes a young and seemingly innocent newcomer named Kevin Cantrell, who expresses interest in working for Jay for a limited period and inquires about his business strategies.
