Forever Young (1992) is an American fantasy romantic drama film directed by Steve Miner. In 1939, Captain Daniel McCormick, a United States Army Air Corps test pilot, successfully lands a prototype North American B-25 Mitchell bomber at Alexander Field in Northern California. As he reunites with his longtime friend and scientist Harry Finely, McCormick learns of Finley’s latest experiment: ‘Project B’, which involves cryonic freezing. The next day, as McCormick plans to propose to his girlfriend Helen, she falls into a coma after a car accident and doctors fear for her recovery. Grief-stricken, McCormick decides to undergo suspended animation for one year, so he will not have to witness Helen’s death.
In 1992, ten-year-old airplane enthusiast Nat Cooper and his friend Felix stumble upon a military storage warehouse. They accidentally activate a chamber inside, causing McCormick to awaken. In the chaos, Nat leaves his coat behind. Realizing he is in a different time period, McCormick tries to seek help from the military but is dismissed as crazy. Undeterred, he becomes determined to uncover the truth. Eventually, he tracks down Nat using the address on the jacket and befriends him. While seeking shelter in Nat’s treehouse, McCormick saves his mother Claire from her abusive ex-boyfriend Fred and injures his hand in the process.
