Friday the 13th (1980) is an American independent slasher film produced and directed by Sean S. Cunningham, written by Victor Miller. At Camp Crystal Lake in 1958, two counselors are killed by an unseen assailant while they sneak into a cabin to have sex. In present day, camp counselor and cook Annie Phillips is driven halfway to the reopened camp by truck driver Enos, who warns her about its troubled past stemming from a drowning in 1957. After being dropped off, Annie hitches another ride from someone who ultimately slashes her throat. At the camp, owner Steve Christy and counselors Ned, Jack, Bill, Marcie, Brenda, and Alice are refurbishing the cabins as a storm rolls in. Steve leaves for supplies and Ned follows someone into a cabin before being found dead above Jack and Marcie while they engage in intercourse.
As Marcie heads to the bathroom, Jack suddenly finds an arrow lodged in his throat. The killer then turns their attention to Marcie and dispatches her with an axe. While outside, Brenda hears a distressed child’s voice beckoning for help just as the lights flick on. Her screams ring out through the night. Concerned about their missing companions, Alice and Bill take it upon themselves to investigate. They come across the axe lying on Brenda’s bed and notice that the phones have been disconnected. Steve returns at this point and recognizes their elusive attacker who proceeds to fatally stab him. As the power cuts out, Bill goes to check on the generator while Alice discovers his lifeless body pinned by arrows to the doorway. She makes a beeline for the main cabin but is greeted with horror as she sees Brenda’s corpse thrown through a window.
