Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985)

Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985) is an American slasher film directed by Danny Steinmann. After defeating Jason Voorhees in Part 4, Tommy Jarvis is haunted by nightmares and ends up being sent to various psychiatric hospitals. Eventually, he winds up at the Pinehurst Halfway House, run by Dr. Matt Letter and his assistant Pam Roberts. There, he meets a group of other teenagers, including Eddie and Tina, Jake, Violet, Robin, Joey, and Reggie who live under the watchful eye of their cook, George. Unfortunately for them, their neighbor Ethel does not approve of their behavior and Matt forbids them from leaving the facility as a result.

Vick, a fellow patient at the institute, becomes overcome with madness due to Joey’s incessant pestering. He violently murders Joey and is subsequently arrested. Later that night, we see two greasers named Vinnie and Pete get killed after their car breaks down. The following evening, a diner waitress and her boyfriend meet the same fate. The sheriff suspects that Jason Voorhees, who has supposedly risen from the dead, may be responsible for these deaths. This leads to Tommy being viewed as a potential suspect as well. The next day, Eddie and Tina rebelliously venture into the forest to smoke marijuana. They are being watched by Raymond, Ethel’s farmhand, who is also murdered shortly after. Upon returning from washing up in the pond, Eddie discovers Tina dead with her eyes brutally gouged out. He too meets a tragic end soon after.
