G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009)

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009) is a military science fiction action film based on the popular G.I. Joe toy line. Weapons expert James McCullen has developed a highly advanced weapon using nanotechnology called nanomites, designed to destroy metal and other materials, including tanks and entire cities. These destructive bots can only be stopped by activating the kill switch. McCullen’s company, M.A.R.S., sells four of these warheads to NATO forces, which are being delivered by American soldiers Duke and Ripcord. However, their mission is compromised when they are ambushed by the Baroness, who Duke recognizes as his former fiancée Ana Lewis. Thankfully, their fellow Joes Scarlett, Snake Eyes, Breaker, and Heavy Duty come to their rescue. Together, they bring the warheads to The Pit – G.I. Joe’s headquarters in Egypt – where they meet with General Hawk.

He takes control of the warheads but initially dismisses Duke and Ripcord until Duke reveals that he has a personal connection to the Baroness. After much convincing, Hawk agrees to let them join his team and help stop McCullen’s dangerous weapon from causing further harm. McCullen has been using nanotechnology to construct a formidable army of soldiers, in collaboration with the Doctor. Together, they aim to incite chaos worldwide by deploying warheads and establishing a new world order. Employing a tracking device, McCullen successfully pinpoints the G.I. Joe headquarters and dispatches Storm Shadow and the Baroness, with support from Zartan, to retrieve the warheads.
