Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties (2006) is an American comedy film directed by Tim Hill and written by Joel Cohen and Alec Sokolow. Following the first film, Jon Arbuckle is preparing to propose to his girlfriend, veterinarian Doctor Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Wilson, who is traveling for work to London. As a surprise, Jon secretly follows Liz to the United Kingdom, but his pets, Garfield and Odie, stow away in his luggage. The two mischievous animals end up escaping from their hotel room out of boredom and become lost in the streets of London. In the meantime, at Carlyle Castle in the English countryside, Lady Eleanor Carlyle’s will is being read by her solicitors: Mr. Hobbs, Mr. Greene and Mrs. Whitney.
She has left the castle to Prince XII, her beloved cat who lives a luxurious life and happens to bear a striking resemblance to Garfield. The Lady’s nephew, Lord Manfred Dargis, is furious when he learns that he will only inherit the grand estate after Prince passes away. In a fit of anger, Dargis traps Prince in a picnic basket and throws him into the river. Meanwhile, Jon mistakes Prince for Garfield and brings him to the hotel, while Smithee mistakes Garfield for Prince and takes him to Carlyle Castle. At the estate, Garfield is given special treatment by both Smithee and Prince’s farm animal followers, who are led by Winston, the loyal bulldog majordomo.
