As suspicions arise about Dutch Boy’s potential malfunction causing the event, the US government decides to send one person to fix the system. Following Makmoud Habib’s untimely death, Max convinces President Andrew Palma to launch an investigation into the events that led to his tragic passing. Max then enlists Jake to travel to the International Climate Space Station (ICSS) in order to gather information and uncover the truth. Meanwhile, back on Earth, a satellite malfunction leads to dangerous explosions in Hong Kong, putting Max’s acquaintance Cheng Long, who heads Dutch Boy’s department there, at great risk.
