Get Carter (2000) is an American action thriller film directed by Stephen Kay and written by David McKenna. Jack Carter, a mob enforcer living in Las Vegas, returns to Seattle upon hearing of his brother Ritchie’s death in a drunk driving accident. His colleague Con McCarty covers for him with their boss Fletcher – whose girlfriend Audrey is involved with Jack. At the funeral, Jack meets his niece Doreen and Ritchie’s friend and coworker Eddie. They both share that Ritchie rarely drank and wouldn’t have driven under the influence; Eddie also assures him that Ritchie was not involved in any illicit activities. Jack also speaks to a woman named Geraldine, who remains mysterious about her connection to Ritchie. As he continues to inquire about his brother’s death with those at the wake, it annoys Gloria, Ritchie’s widow.

The owner of the club where Ritchie worked, loan shark Cliff Brumby, is confronted by Jack. Despite Jack’s suspicions that Ritchie was murdered, Brumby dismisses the idea and shares that Ritchie was romantically involved with Geraldine – an associate of local boss Cyrus Paice. Jack then turns to Paice for information but comes up empty-handed. In his pursuit for answers, Jack tails Paice and discovers that he has been working for Jeremy Kinnear – a wealthy computer mogul who employs him to discreetly provide attractive women for his parties in order to maintain a flawless reputation. However, Paice is now using this information to blackmail Kinnear into running his pornographic websites. Despite his efforts, Jack is unable to uncover any valuable insights and turns to reviewing surveillance footage from Brumby’s club instead.
