Get Smart (2008)
Get Smart (2008) is an American spy action comedy film directed by Peter Segal, with a screenplay by Tom J. Astle and Matt Ember. It was produced by Leonard B. Stern, who also produced the original television series. The story follows Maxwell ‘Max’ Smart, an analyst for CONTROL – a top secret American intelligence agency. Despite his desire to become a field agent, Max is kept behind a desk due to his Chief’s appreciation for his analytical skills. When CONTROL’s headquarters is bombed by the terrorist organization KAOS, Max is promoted to Agent 86 and partnered with Agent 99, who had previously gone through plastic surgery to change her identity and escape KAOS detection while doubting Max’s abilities as an agent. While tracking the suspects in Moscow, Max finds himself in trouble when he is mistakenly arrested by an Air Marshal while trying to clean his shoe on a commercial flight.
Using a mini-crossbow hidden in his Swiss Army knife, he manages to free himself from custody but accidentally ejects himself out of the plane and falls towards the earth below. Agent 99 swoops in with a parachute to save him from danger. But an enemy agent from KAOS is not far behind, she lures him away with a kiss and then activates the parachute. The enemy crashes into a barn while they make their way to Ladislas Krstic’s mansion. They sneak into his office and discover nuclear material leading back to a KAOS weapons factory hidden within a bakery in Moscow. Before they can be caught, Max and 99 take out Krstic and his henchmen. However, at the bakery, Max encounters the leaders of KAOS- Siegfried and Shtarker- who expose their true identities. Smart escapes and destroys the factory, but is still pursued by the assassin from earlier.
