Godzilla vs. Kong (2021)

Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), directed by Adam Wingard, is an American monster film. It serves as a sequel to both Kong: Skull Island (2017) and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), and is the fourth installment in the MonsterVerse. Five years have passed since King Ghidorah, an extraterrestrial dragon-like creature, awakened the Titans worldwide, only to be defeated by Godzilla. Monarch now contains Kong within a massive dome on Skull Island, which has been exposed by a powerful storm. Jia, the last Iwi native and adopted daughter of Kong expert Ilene Andrews, communicates with Kong using sign language as she is deaf. Meanwhile, Bernie Hayes from Apex Cybernetics uncovers evidence of nefarious activities at their Pensacola location through his Titan conspiracy podcast. When Godzilla attacks the facility, Bernie stumbles upon a colossal device. Madison Russell hears about this through Bernie’s podcast and enlists Josh Valentine to help investigate Godzilla’s sudden aggressions.

Walter Simmons, CEO of Apex, has enlisted the help of Nathan Lind, a former Monarch scientist and expert in Hollow Earth theory. Their mission: to search for a powerful energy source within the Titans’ homeworld. Despite hesitation due to his previous loss of a loved one on an expedition to the Hollow Earth, Lind agrees when he learns that Apex has developed specialized vehicles, known as HEAVs, designed to combat the strong gravitational forces. With Andrews’ approval, Kong is chosen as their guide through an outpost in Antarctica. Accompanied by Lind, Ilene, and Maia leading an Apex team, they set out on a barge escorted by the US Navy with a sedated Kong in tow. However, their journey is quickly interrupted by Godzilla’s attack on the convoy. After defeating Kong and believing the ships to be destroyed, Godzilla retreats. In order to reach the entrance of the Hollow Earth, Kong is airlifted while the team follows in their HEAVs through the tunnel.
