Gone Girl (2014), an American psychological thriller directed by David Fincher and written by Gillian Flynn, follows the story of Nick Dunne, a writing teacher who discovers his wife Amy is missing on their fifth wedding anniversary. Amy’s fame as the inspiration for her parents’ successful Amazing Amy children’s books leads to widespread media coverage, and Nick’s apparent lack of concern over his wife’s disappearance raises suspicion.
