Graveyard Shift (1990) is a horror film helmed by Ralph S. Singleton. John Hall, a widowed drifter, lands a job at an old and rat-infested textile mill next to an abandoned graveyard. His boss, Warwick, is a sadistic individual who has been carrying out numerous affairs with female workers, including Nordello. To rid the mill of rats, Warwick brings in the eccentric exterminator Tucker Cleveland. However, Cleveland confides in Hall that the infestation is beyond his control and the mill should be shut down. As time passes, Hall faces harassment from his coworkers Danson, Brogan, and Stevenson, as well as the despotic Warwick who harbors a special animosity towards him. Amidst all this chaos, Hall finds solace in his budding romance with coworker Jane Wisconsky.
But when Warwick learns of major safety violations in the basement that could lead to closure of the mill, he orders Stevenson to investigate and set up lights before sending in a crew to clean it out. However, during this task, Stevenson is suddenly snatched by a mysterious creature and dragged away. Hall, Wisconsky, Carmichael, Danson, and Brogan are tasked with cleaning the basement. Later on, Nordello sneaks into Warwick’s office to steal documents revealing recommendations for shutting down the mill from the exterminator and OSHA. As she exits, Nordello tumbles down the stairs and meets her demise in the basement at the hands of a mysterious creature. In the meantime, Warwick suspects that the graveyard is responsible for the rat infestation.
