Halloween II (2009) is a slasher flick from filmmaker Rob Zombie. As a young patient at Smith’s Grove Sanitarium, Michael Myers receives a gift from his mother Deborah – a white horse figurine. Flash forward fifteen years and we find Laurie Strode in shock after shooting an older Michael. Sheriff Lee Brackett comes across Laurie and brings her to the hospital, while the paramedics transport Annie Brackett and Dr. Sam Loomis, both survivors of Michael’s attacks. Michael’s body is en route in another ambulance, but when the driver gets into an accident, Michael awakens and makes his escape, killing an injured paramedic in the process.
A year later, Laurie has moved in with the Bracketts while Michael remains missing, presumed dead. While she copes with her trauma, Dr. Loomis seizes the opportunity to write yet another book. Meanwhile, Michael roams as a drifter and is haunted by visions of his mother and a younger version of himself, urging him to reunite with Laurie. After killing a couple on a farm and deciding to make his way to Haddonfield, Laurie begins experiencing similar hallucinations to Michael’s past. However, hers also involve reenacting his murders. As Michael makes his way to Haddonfield, Loomis embarks on a book tour but faces backlash from the public for exploiting the deaths caused by Michael’s actions.
