Halloween Kills (2021)

Halloween Kills (2021), a slasher film from director David Gordon Green and writers Danny McBride and Scott Teems, follows the aftermath of a tragic incident on October 31st, 1978. Deputy Frank Hawkins accidentally kills his partner while trying to save him from Michael Myers, and also stops Dr. Samuel Loomis from executing the killer. Forty years later, on another Halloween night (October 31st, 2018), Hawkins is stabbed by Dr. Ranbir Sartain and left for dead. He is found by Cameron Elam, who calls for help and regrets not allowing Michael’s execution all those years ago. Meanwhile, Tommy Doyle commemorates the 40th anniversary of Michael’s imprisonment with other survivors Marion Chambers, Lindsey Wallace, and Lonnie Elam (father of Cameron), each having their own terrifying encounters with Michael in 1978. When firefighters unwittingly free Michael from Laurie Strode’s burning house, he takes vengeance on them with their own equipment before making his way back to Haddonfield. Laurie, along with her daughter Karen and granddaughter Allyson are rushed to Haddonfield Memorial Hospital where she undergoes emergency surgery, while Michael continues his murder spree throughout the town.

Tommy, Marion, Lindsey, and Lonnie receive word of Michael’s deadly rampage via a wireless emergency alert. Vanessa, a regular at the bar, claims to have encountered Michael in her car but manages to crash and flee undetected. Fueled by vengeance, Tommy rallies fellow Haddonfield residents to form a posse and hunt down Michael. Karen discovers that Michael is still alive but chooses not to disclose this information to Laurie in order to give her time to recover. Allyson reconciles with Cameron, her ex-boyfriend, and joins forces with Tommy’s group to seek retribution for her own father’s murder. Meanwhile, Laurie and Hawkins wake up in the same room and reflect on their past relationship.
