Heist (2015)
The American heist action thriller film, Heist (2015), was directed by Scott Mann and written by Stephen Cyrus Sepher and Max Adams. It is based on an original story by Sepher. The plot follows Luke Vaughn, a former employee at the Southern casino ‘The Swan’, who needs $300,000 for his sick daughter’s surgery. When he asks his boss, Francis ‘The Pope’ Silva, for a loan, he is rejected and ultimately fired by Silva’s right-hand man, Derrick ‘Dog’ Prince. However, Vaughn learns that the casino is laundering money for the mob from security guard Cox. With access to the vault codes, Vaughn teams up with Cox to steal the money. During their escape, they are confronted by Dog and his henchmen in a gun battle that wounds one of their accomplices. With their getaway driver gone, they are forced to hijack a city bus. Upon hearing the gunshots, police officer Kris Bajos begins to pursue the bus.
Vaughn inscribes a passenger’s phone number on the bus window for Bajos to use as a means of communication. He cautions her about the danger posed by Cox, who may harm passengers if the police do not remove the road blocks. With Bajos in pursuit, Vaughn commands Bernie, the bus driver, to plow through the barricade, granting them access to the interstate highway. The impact causes mobile phones belonging to passengers to be flung from the bus. Vaughn then requests assistance from one of the passengers, who happens to be a vet student, in attending to an injured thief. Meanwhile, Cox contacts Jono, an elderly confidant involved in their robbery plan, for an update. As the fuel level dwindles, Vaughn summons a fuel tanker for replenishment. Detective Marconi joins forces with Bajos and tasks her with driving the fuel tanker. He also briefs SWAT and monitors their progress via a police helicopter.
