Hollow Point (1996)
In the directed film Hollow Point (1996), Sidney J. Furie tells the story of Diane Norwood, an FBI agent, and Max Parrish, a DEA agent, as they chase down a group of three allied crime bosses and their financial manager, Livingston. Despite having the same target, the agents opt to compete against each other for the chance to arrest the criminals and take their large cash stash in the name of their respective agencies. However, when it becomes clear that neither is willing to back down, they begrudgingly agree to join forces.
Amidst intense romantic tension, Diane and Max’s strong personalities and conflicting investigative approaches often clash. Diane, known for her thoughtfulness, seriousness, and adherence to rules, struggles with Max’s arrogant, impulsive nature and casual sense of humor. Eventually, they encounter an unorthodox hitman who partners with Livingston, becoming their only hope in unraveling the case. This unconventional trio bands together to thwart the criminals’ schemes.
