Homecoming (2018 — 2020)
Homecoming (2018–2020) is an American psychological thriller TV series based on the Gimlet Media podcast of the same name. It was created by Eli Horowitz and Micah Bloomberg and first premiered on Amazon Prime Video on November 2, 2018. Heidi Bergman, a former social worker, had worked at the Homecoming Transitional Support Center under the Geist Group – a live-in facility that supposedly helped soldiers adjust to civilian life. However, four years later, Bergman has moved on and now works as a waitress. She struggles to remember her time at Homecoming until a U.S. Department of Defense auditor asks her about her departure. It’s then that Bergman realizes she had been deceived about the true nature of the facility.
In the beginning of 2018, Walter Cruz completes his service in the military after serving four tours and joins the Homecoming Transitional Support Center, a novel residential occupational program designed to help former servicemen smoothly reintegrate into civilian life. He meets Heidi Bergman, one of the administrators at Homecoming, who acts as his counselor. Colin, an exacting superior to Heidi, urges her to gather information about the program quickly. In 2022, while living with her mother and working as a waitress, Heidi is approached by Thomas Carrasco, an investigator from the Department of Defense. He informs her that he is looking into an old complaint made by an employee regarding Cruz being held against his will at Homecoming. Heidi states that she does not recall any memories of him.
