Honor Society (2022)
Honor Society (2022), a coming-of-age comedy film, features talented actors Angourie Rice and Gaten Matarazzo. The film is helmed by director Oran Zegman and written by David A. Goodman. Honor Rose, an ambitious senior at George H. W. Bush High School, has a burning desire to attend Harvard University and leave behind her middle-class life. To increase her chances of being accepted, she must secure a letter of recommendation from Mr. Calvin, her guidance counselor.
Honor makes a plan to remove all of her competitors with the aid of her “fake” friends Emma and Talia. To begin her strategy, she becomes a member of the theatre club and convinces them to perform Kennedy’s play about Mary I of England. Her goal is to distract Kennedy and cause her grades to decline. Furthermore, Honor persuades Travis to participate in the production in hopes of ruining his reputation as an athlete and encouraging him to pursue his secret crush on one of the actors. Additionally, believing that Michael struggles with girls and may be interested in her, Honor becomes his lab partner and accepts his social media requests. In an effort to impress him, she invites Michael over for study sessions at her house.
