Hotel Transylvania: Transformania (2022)

The upcoming film Hotel Transylvania: Transformania (2022) is an American animated adventure comedy, produced by Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation and released through Amazon Studios. As the hotel celebrates its 125th anniversary, Mavis overhears Dracula’s retirement plans, prompting her to share them with Johnny. Excitedly, Johnny reveals his own plans to renovate the hotel. However, Dracula worries about the potential damage Johnny could cause and falsely claims that only monsters can own the hotel due to a “monster real-estate law”. This leaves Johnny disappointed. With the help of Van Helsing’s transforming ray, he attempts to turn humans into monsters and vice-versa. After testing it on his guinea pig Gigi, Van Helsing uses it on Johnny, turning him into a dragon-like monster. Desperate to change him back, Dracula accidentally turns himself into a human and shatters the ray’s crystal in the process.

Van Helsing informs Dracula and Johnny that they can reverse their transformation by retrieving a new crystal from the Cave of Reflexion in South America. Eager to return to their true forms, the two set off on their journey. However, during their absence, Dracula’s companions – Frank, Wayne, Griffin, and Murray – also suffer the consequences of drinking from a contaminated fountain and become human. Upon hearing the news through media reports, Mavis and Ericka confront Van Helsing but he cautions them about the dangers of the ray. He explains that those who transform into monsters will continue to mutate and become more aggressive over time. With this warning in mind, the rest of the group embarks on a trip to South America to locate Dracula and Johnny.
