House of Wax (2005)

House of Wax (2005), a slasher film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, follows the story of Carly Jones, her brother Nick, her boyfriend Wade Felton, and their friends as they camp in a wooded area on their way to a football game. A stranger in a pickup truck briefly interacts with them before leaving after Nick smashes one of his headlights. The next day, Wade discovers his car’s fan belt has been cut and Lester offers to take Carly and Wade to the nearby town of Ambrose while the others continue to the game. In Ambrose, a ghost town, the couple meets Bo Sinclair who offers to sell them a fan belt and give them a ride back to their car after attending a funeral. While waiting, they stumble upon ‘Trudy’s House of Wax’, which is made entirely out of wax and serves as the town’s main attraction.

After Bo leads them to his house for the fan belt, Carly stays in the truck while Wade goes inside to use the bathroom. Unfortunately, Vincent, Bo’s twin brother with a covered face from their conjoined past, knocks out Wade. When Carly notices a broken headlight on Bo’s truck and realizes he was at the campsite earlier, she panics and runs away. Bo catches her and takes her to a gas station cellar as Vincent covers Wade’s body in wax. Unable to make it to their game on time, Paige and Blake return to the campsite while Nick and Dalton search for Carly and Wade in Ambrose. In a desperate attempt for help, Carly tries to call someone but Bo stops her by cutting off her fingertip.
