I Want You (2012)

Director Fernando González Molina’s Spanish drama film, I Want You (2012), follows the story of H as he returns to Barcelona after two years in London. Hoping to leave behind memories of his former love, Babi, and the loss of his best friend, Pollo, H is picked up at the airport by his brother. Upon settling back into his hometown, H takes a ride on his bike, only to end up at the port where he used to race illegally. A phone call interrupts his thoughts – Katina has heard about his return through Álex (H’s brother) and suggests meeting at a nearby park. As H arrives at the park, he runs into Chino who shares that things have changed since he left. Chino invites him to a gathering with their old group of friends at a restaurant.

While waiting for everyone to arrive on a park bench, Katina surprises him and they sit down for some catching-up. Katina inquires if H has missed Babi and notes that she’s seen her, but that Babi seems different. H extends an invitation for Katina to join a gathering, but she declines, and they part with the promise to keep in touch. H hops on his motorcycle and is trailed by Gin. Gin tails him to a gas station where she unintentionally bumps into his bike. After H picks up his bike, he questions her about why she hit it. With a giggle, Gin clarifies that the motorcycle was in her path and fell by accident. She implores him to return the keys and threatens to involve the police. H responds by challenging her to follow through with her threat, questioning whether involving law enforcement would improve her situation.
