The American animated adventure comedy film, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009), was created by Blue Sky Studios and released by 20th Century Fox. While Ellie is pregnant, Manny becomes fixated on ensuring a perfect and safe life for both her and their soon-to-be-born child. He does not want them to suffer the same fate as his previous wife and child, causing him to distance himself from Diego. However, Diego is struggling with the idea of leaving the herd as he feels he is losing his skills as a hunter and is not suited for family life. Meanwhile, Sid also desires a family of his own and stumbles upon an icy cave where he discovers three seemingly abandoned eggs. Against Manny’s wishes, Sid decides to care for the eggs which hatch into baby Tyrannosaurus the following morning. In the midst of all this, Scrat becomes enamored with Scratte, a flying saber-tooth squirrel who only wants his acorn.
Despite Sid’s best efforts to raise the dinosaurs, their wild behavior drives away younger animals and destroys Manny’s beloved playground. This infuriates Manny, especially when the mother Tyrannosaurus – whose eggs were taken by Sid – shows up looking for her babies. Despite Sid’s refusal to give them back, the mother takes both him and her children underground. Luckily, Manny, Ellie, Diego, Crash, and Eddie are able to follow and discover a vast subterranean jungle filled with supposedly extinct dinosaurs. Surrounded by these creatures, they are rescued by a deranged one-eyed least weasel named Buck. Buck has been living in the jungle for quite some time and is on a mission to track down Rudy – a massive albino Baryonyx who terrifies the inhabitants of the jungle.
