Into the Storm (2014) is an American found footage disaster film directed by Steven Quale and written by John Swetnam. In Silverton, Oklahoma, graduation preparations are underway for the local high school senior class. Gary Fuller, the high school’s vice-principal, has enlisted his two sons, Trey and Donnie, to help capture messages from the seniors for a time capsule that will be opened in 25 years. Meanwhile, veteran storm chaser Pete has been trying to capture footage of tornadoes using his specially designed Tornado Intercept Vehicle, but with no success so far this year. When news of a major storm system breaks, the team decides to head towards Silverton in search of potential tornado footage. Once they arrive, they realize that their original target has fizzled out, but a new storm forms and intensifies rapidly – bringing with it hail and a tornado headed directly towards the high school.

The weather suddenly takes a turn for the worse at the high school. Students are quickly ushered inside as a tornado wreaks havoc on the surrounding area. Once the chaos settles, frightened students cautiously make their way out of the damaged building, with Gary immediately heading off to rescue his son Donnie. Despite warnings to stay indoors, Donnie had ventured to an abandoned paper mill with his friend Kaitlyn, only to become trapped when the tornado brought down the structure. Meanwhile, Pete’s storm chase team stops in a nearby area and watches in horror as a tornado forms, destroying numerous buildings. Just as Gary and Trey arrive on the scene, determined to save Donnie and Kaitlyn, they are faced with yet another challenge – saving Pete’s meteorologist Allison Stone before the storm dissipates. In a moment of desperation, Pete’s team agrees to assist Gary in getting to the paper mill.
