Jigsaw (2017)

Jigsaw (2017) is an American horror film, directed by the Spierig Brothers and written by Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger. It’s the eighth installment in the Saw film series. Detectives Brad Halloran and Keith Hunt are after Edgar Munsen, who insists on starting a ‘game’ to save his life. He activates a remote trigger, gets shot, and falls to the ground. Five people wake up in a barn with buckets over their heads and chains around their necks. A recorded message from John Kramer instructs them to sacrifice blood to survive before being dragged towards a wall of buzzsaws. Most manage to make it out by cutting themselves, but one is too late to awaken in time.

At the bar, Logan expresses his distrust towards Halloran and his suspicion that Halloran purposely shot Edgar during their first confrontation on the rooftop. Later, Eleanor invites Logan to her studio, filled with recreations of Jigsaw’s infamous traps. She confesses her fascination with his techniques, but also voices concerns about being linked to the recent murders. Meanwhile, Hunt secretly photographs them and plans to show Halloran. However, Logan tries to convince Hunt that Halloran is actually responsible for the killings. As they return to the barn, Mitch becomes the next victim of Jigsaw’s game – suspended by his foot and slowly being lowered towards a dangerous mechanism.
