John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023)

The American film, John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023), is a neo-noir action thriller directed and co-produced by Chad Stahelski. Shay Hatten and Michael Finch are credited as writers. In the movie, John Wick prepares for revenge against the High Table while hiding underground with the Bowery King in New York City. He later travels to Morocco where he takes down the Elder, known as ‘the one who sits above the Table’. Upon hearing of this, Marquis Vincent Bisset de Gramont, a member of the High Table, summons New York Continental Hotel manager Winston and his concierge Charon. The Marquis expresses disappointment in Winston’s previous failure to kill John and announces that the High Table has given him unlimited resources for this task.

As punishment for his past mistakes, Winston is stripped of his managerial duties and declared ‘excommunicado’. The Marquis then proceeds to destroy the New York Continental and execute Charon. To carry out his vendetta against John, he enlists Caine – an old friend of John’s and a retired blind assassin from High Table – threatening to harm Caine’s daughter if he refuses. John seeks shelter at the Osaka Continental, which is owned and managed by his close acquaintance Shimazu Koji. However, things take a tense turn when Chidi, the Marquis’ right-hand man, along with a group of High Table killers and Caine, shows up to inspect the premises. In a race against time, Akira, Koji’s daughter and also the hotel’s concierge, swiftly evacuates everyone before the High Table executes their plan to destroy the property.
