Johnny English Reborn (2011) is a spy action comedy movie helmed by Oliver Parker and penned by Hamish McColl based on a story by William Davies. Following an unsuccessful mission to protect the newly elected president of Mozambique that resulted in him losing his knighthood, Johnny English spent the last eight years training at a monastery in Tibet. However, when MI7’s new director Pamela ‘Pegasus’ Thornton calls him back into service, he must investigate an assassination plot targeting the Chinese Premier during negotiations with the UK Prime Minister. Alongside fellow agent Simon Ambrose and MI7’s quartermaster Patch Quartermain, English also teams up with junior agent Colin Tucker, who becomes his assistant for the assignment.

In Hong Kong, a former CIA agent by the name of Titus Fisher is discovered to be a member of Vortex, the group responsible for disrupting the Mozambique mission. This particular group holds in their possession a secret weapon that can only be unlocked with three keys held by Fisher and two others. Tragically, Fisher is killed by an elder female assassin who has cleverly disguised herself as a cleaner. The assassin’s accomplice manages to steal one of the keys from Fisher’s possession. However, English is able to recover it but unfortunately, it gets stolen again while being transported to London. As if this humiliation wasn’t enough, during a meeting with the Foreign Secretary and Pegasus, English suffers further embarrassment when he attempts to reveal the key and conspiracy. Adding insult to injury, he mistakenly attacks Pegasus’s mother at a children’s party, believing her to be the Killer Cleaner.
