Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) is a thrilling sci-fi action flick helmed by J. A. Bayona and penned by Derek Connolly and Colin Trevorrow. Following the events of 2015’s Jurassic World, a band of mercenaries set foot on the deserted Isla Nublar to retrieve Indominus rex DNA from its lagoon. However, their mission takes a dangerous turn when their submersible gets devoured by the Mosasaurus and their helicopter is attacked by Tyrannosaurus (Rexy). Despite facing these challenges, they are able to secure the sample and inadvertently free the Mosasaurus into the open ocean. Fast forward three years later, as a volcanic eruption looms over Isla Nublar, there is a heated discussion among a United States Senate committee about whether saving the dinosaurs is ethical. Muathematician Dr. Ian Malcolm argues that the cloned creatures should perish naturally as it would be correcting John Hammond’s wrongful actions. On the other hand, Claire Dearing, who was once Jurassic World’s operations manager, has founded the Dinosaur Protection Group with an aim to rescue these majestic animals.

Following the Senate’s decision not to rescue the animals, Hammond’s former partner, Sir Benjamin Lockwood, summons Claire to his estate in Northern California. Together with his aide Eli Mills, Lockwood presents a plan to relocate the dinosaurs to a new island sanctuary. As part of this plan, Claire is asked to reactivate the park’s tracking system in order to find Blue, the last surviving Velociraptor. In order to capture her, Claire enlists the help of Owen Grady, a former Velociraptor trainer. With their efforts combined, Claire and former park technician Franklin Webb successfully reactivate the online tracking system on Isla Nublar. Accompanied by paleo-veterinarian Zia Rodriguez and a team of mercenaries led by Ken Wheatley, they are able to locate Blue. However, tensions rise during their encounter and Blue ends up being shot while Wheatley tranquilizes Owen. In an act of betrayal, Wheatley leaves Owen, Claire and Franklin behind on the island while taking Zia hostage for medical assistance for Blue.
