Kitbull (2019)

Kitbull (2019) is an animated short and viral video created by Rosana Sullivan, produced by Pixar Animation Studios, and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the third film in Pixar’s SparkShorts program. A feline resides among the trash cans behind a building in San Francisco’s Mission District. While scavenging for food on the streets, the cat is offered a meal by a passerby but quickly flees. It takes shelter in a cardboard box within a rundown building’s garbage heap. Eventually, a friendly pit bull joins the cat in a doghouse behind the building. Despite initially being afraid of the dog, they gradually form a bond while playing with a bottlecap. One night, after being brought inside the building, the pit bull gets into a brutal fight and is kicked back outside. He then rushes to assist the kitten who has become trapped in plastic pack rings during a storm, but out of fear, the kitten scratches him upon seeing his sharp teeth. Feeling dejected, the pit bull returns to his doghouse where he is eventually joined by the hesitant kitten.

The following day, the pair manage to flee the backyard right before its owner arrives. Later on, while playing on the street, the kitten is discovered by the same passerby. The woman is taken aback when she sees the pit bull, but upon seeing the kitten’s fondness for the dog, she and her husband decide to adopt them both. Eventually, the two creatures frolic together on a hilltop and join their new family in admiring a beautiful view of the city.
