Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016)

Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016) is an animated martial arts comedy brought to life by the collaborative efforts of DreamWorks Animation, China Film Group Corporation, Oriental DreamWorks, and Zhong Ming You Ying Film. The film follows Grand Master Oogway as he battles General Kai, a formidable spirit warrior yak who has stolen the chi of all the other deceased kung fu masters. Despite warning Kai about his eventual defeat at the hands of another, Oogway falls victim to the chi-stealing technique and Kai returns to the Mortal Realm. Meanwhile, after announcing his retirement from teaching, Master Shifu appoints Po as his successor. However, Po’s initial attempts at teaching cause more harm than good, leading Shifu to advise him to embrace his own style rather than trying to mimic his mentor’s. Feeling discouraged, Po heads home where he meets Li Shan – a panda who turns out to be his biological father – prompted by a sign from the universe that his son is alive. As they form an immediate bond, Po’s adoptive father Mr. Ping can’t help but feel jealous and upset.

After introducing Li to Shifu and the Five, Po joins them in defending the Valley of Peace from Kai’s jade zombies. These were once kung fu masters whose chi had been stolen by Kai. The group discovers that Kai and Oogway were former friends who had a falling out. However, Kai saved a wounded Oogway’s life by taking him to a secret panda village to be healed. While there, the pandas taught Oogway how to give healing chi, but Kai learned how to take chi from others for his own selfish gain. This led to Oogway banishing him to the Spirit Realm. Li offers to take Po with him to the village so he can learn chi and defeat Kai. Meanwhile, Shifu and the Five prepare for the impending battle in the Valley. Mr. Ping sneaks along in hopes of causing trouble between Po and Li, but is quickly discovered. Upon arriving at the village, Li insists on teaching Po chi only after he has fully embraced the laid-back lifestyle of a panda.
