As the Illuminati search for a key to join halves of a mysterious artifact known as ‘the Triangle’, Lara finds herself in Venice during the first phase of a planetary alignment. The cabal’s leader, Manfred Powell, claims to have almost located the artifact but is actually clueless about its whereabouts. Lara’s missing father, Lord Richard Croft, appears to her in a dream and sets off a chain of events when she discovers a ticking clock hidden within the manor.
Seeking answers, Lara consults with Wilson, a friend of her father’s. Along the way, she meets American adventurer Alex West who aids her in her quest. With Wilson’s help, Lara is directed to Powell and the mystery surrounding the elusive artifact continues to unfold. Lara shares photos of the clock with Powell, who insists he is unfamiliar with it. Later that night, armed soldiers break into the house and take the clock to Powell. The following day, Lara’s father’s prearranged message arrives, revealing that the clock holds the key to finding the two halves of an ancient object known as the Triangle of Light. This powerful artifact has caused destruction in the past and was split into two pieces: one hidden in Cambodia and the other in Siberia.
