Logan (2017)

Logan (2017) is an American superhero film featuring Hugh Jackman in the lead role. This movie is the tenth installment in the X-Men franchise and serves as the final part of the Wolverine trilogy, which also includes X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) and The Wolverine (2013). Set in 2029, Logan’s healing powers are fading and no new mutants have been born in 25 years. He now works as a limousine driver in El Paso, Texas, alongside fellow mutant Caliban. Together, they take care of Charles Xavier, the founder of the X-Men, who suffers from dementia and dangerous telepathic seizures. After one such incident caused harm to many people including some X-Men members last year, Logan reluctantly agrees to accompany former nurse Gabriela López and a young girl named Laura to Eden – a supposed safe haven near the US-Canada border.

However, upon discovering Gabriela’s death, Logan is confronted by her killer Donald Pierce – Transigen’s cyborg chief of security. Pierce is searching for Laura, who has snuck into Logan’s limo and shares similar powers with him. Together with Logan and Xavier, they narrowly escape Pierce and his Reavers, but unfortunately Caliban is captured. Feeling desperate, Pierce turns to torturing Caliban for information on Laura’s whereabouts. Meanwhile, as Xavier and Logan are watching a video on Gabriela’s phone, they learn the shocking truth that Transigen had created Laura and other children from mutant DNA to be used as weapons. However, these children proved to be too difficult to control and were slated for execution until Gabriela and her fellow nurses helped some of them escape.
