Loro (2018), a film by Paolo Sorrentino starring Toni Servillo, follows the story of Sergio Morra, a young businessman from Taranto. He engages in small-scale trafficking of young escorts to bribe local politicians and obtain licenses through unconventional means. Tamara, an equally unscrupulous woman and a mother, helps him with his schemes. Seeking more power and influence, Sergio and Tamara head to Rome with the goal of getting close to Silvio Berlusconi. In the city, Sergio meets the enigmatic Kira, also known as the Queen Bee due to her direct connection to Berlusconi. Meanwhile, Tamara forms a relationship with former minister Santino Recchia and uses her charm to aid Sergio in making contact with Berlusconi. Recchia hopes to take over Berlusconi’s role as leader of the centre-right coalition and enlists deputy Cupa Caiafa’s support in this pursuit.

Ennio Doris, a successful entrepreneur and long-time friend of Berlusconi, admires his wealth and praises his business acumen. Despite the disappointment of losing the election by a narrow margin, Berlusconi is determined to regain power. Ennio suggests a strategy to win over the opposition by convincing six senators to switch sides. Meanwhile, Veronica announces her desire to travel to Cambodia, taking a break from her relationship with Berlusconi. In his efforts to secure the support of these senators, Berlusconi resorts to bribery and favoritism, offering money and roles in films or TV productions to their girlfriends. Ultimately, his efforts pay off as the government falls and he wins the new election. However, with victory comes loneliness at his Sardinian villa. To fill this void, he turns to Sergio Morra for help in organizing extravagant parties filled with beautiful women.
