Adding fuel to the fire is Philippe, Christine’s lover and a suspected embezzler at the firm.
Using this leverage, she forces Philippe to end his affair with Isabelle, leaving her heartbroken. Isabelle experienced a series of humiliating events at work and home. The police quickly arrest Isabelle, believing she acted out of revenge for the constant mistreatment from Christine. Despite showing signs of a mental breakdown, Isabelle confesses to the murder and is charged accordingly. While in prison awaiting sentencing, she retracts her confession, stating it was made under pressure while heavily medicated.
