Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted (2012)

Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted (2012) is a comedy film from DreamWorks Animation SKG and PDI/DreamWorks, distributed by Paramount Pictures. The penguins and chimpanzees take off for Monte Carlo in a modified airplane. However, when they fail to return, Alex, Marty, Melman, Gloria, King Julien, Maurice, and Mort decide to track them down and bring them back to their home at the Central Park Zoo in New York City. They eventually locate them at the Monte Carlo Casino, but things quickly escalate as an argument erupts between Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria. In the chaos that follows, the animals manage to escape from Captain Chantel DuBois of Monaco’s Animal Control. She is determined to capture Alex for her collection of taxidermied animals. After their plane crash-lands in France, the group boards a circus train that happens to be leaving. Amongst the circus animals are Stefano the sea lion, Gia the jaguar and Vitaly the tiger. However, these circus animals are wary of outsiders so Alex decides to pretend they’re American circus animals instead.

The circus is making its way to Rome for a show, followed by London where they hope to impress a promoter for their debut American tour. To avoid suspicion, the penguins use their fortune from Monte Carlo to purchase the circus from its human ringmaster. In Rome, Alex develops a crush on Gia and Julien falls for performing bear Sonya. DuBois attempts to chase after Julien and Sonya by stealing a motor scooter but is ultimately arrested. However, the circus’s performance at the Colosseum in Rome turns out to be disastrous. The animals (excluding Sonya) struggle with their acts and are chased off by an angry audience, but manage to escape on a train. While sharing his knowledge with Alex, Stefano reveals that the circus used to be famous thanks to Vitaly’s skillful hoop-jumping abilities. Sadly, an accident caused him to lose his passion and the rest of the circus suffered as a result. Determined to revive their former glory, Alex persuades the circus animals to come up with a new all-animal act that will wow audiences. Marty and Stefano discover a new passion for being shot out of a cannon while Melman and Gloria become experts at dancing together on a tightrope.
