Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015)

The film Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015) is an American dystopian science fiction based on James Dashner’s novel of the same name. A hesitant Thomas is left by his mother with scientist Ava Paige and soldiers from the organization WCKD. Along with other children, he is placed in a mobile maze in the Glade for scientific testing. Years later, after being rescued from the maze, Thomas and the other survivors are brought to a facility led by Mr. Janson. He claims that the facility offers protection from the Flare virus and ‘Cranks’, and supplies them with necessary resources. Under Janson’s guidance, they realize that their experiment was not unique and that numerous other mazes were also created. After Thomas becomes suspicious of Janson, he teams up with Aris, the first Maze survivor to arrive in their current facility.

Together, they uncover that WCKD’s leader, Ava Paige, is still alive and that Janson is working for the organization. They discuss experiments on the Immunes and Janson’s search for a resistance group called the Right Arm in the mountains. With help from Aris and the other Gladers, including Teresa who they rescue from WCKD’s grasp, they manage to escape the facility and enter the desolate outside world known as the Scorch. However, Janson sends troops to track them down. Seeking shelter in an abandoned shopping mall, they encounter dangerous humans infected with the Flare virus known as Cranks. Though they are able to escape, Winston unfortunately becomes infected by one of them.
