Men in Black 3 (2012) is a sci-fi action comedy film based on the popular Marvel Comics series. After escaping from a top-security prison on the Moon, alien criminal Boris the Animal sets out to seek revenge on Agent K for past incidents involving his capture and the removal of his left arm. Despite being warned by Boris that he is already ‘dead’, K refuses to reveal any further details about their encounter from over four decades ago. Meanwhile, J discovers evidence that implicates K not only in Boris’s capture but also in preventing a deadly invasion by deploying an interplanetary shield known as the ‘ArcNet’. In a desperate attempt to change history, Boris travels back in time and targets K’s younger self, causing complications in the space-time continuum. Although J retains his memories of the original timeline, it takes new MIB Chief Agent O to piece together his strange behavior as a sign of disruptions in time.
After K’s departure, the ArcNet remained undeployed, leaving present-day Earth vulnerable to a potential Boglodite invasion. Upon discovering Boris’ murderous intentions on July 15, 1969 through Agency records, J travels back in time to prevent it by eliminating young Boris. However, his plans are foiled when he is apprehended by a young K and brought to MiB Headquarters. Initially prepared to neuralyze J, K decides to investigate his claims of being from the future just before carrying out the procedure. Following a trail of clues that leads them first to a bowling alley and then The Factory, they are directed by secret MiB agent Andy Warhol to Griffin – the last surviving Archanan who sought refuge on Earth after his planet was destroyed by the Boglodites.
