Midnight Mass (2021) is a gothic supernatural horror miniseries streaming in America. The fictional novel Midnight Mass is featured in Flanagan’s 2016 slasher film Hush, starring Siegel. The story follows an impoverished island community that encounters paranormal occurrences following the appearance of a enigmatic priest.
After serving four years in prison for causing a fatal accident, a young man comes back to his secluded hometown of Crockett Island with hopes of starting anew. Coincidentally, a charismatic priest arrives at the same time and begins to reinvigorate the dwindling faith of the town. Yet, the priest’s actions only further widen the divisions among the community as strange occurrences plague the small island.
