NCIS (2003 — 2024)

NCIS (2003–2024), the inaugural installment in the NCIS media franchise, is an American military police procedural television series. The show follows a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and seamlessly blends elements from military drama, police procedural, and comedy genres. Recently, CBS had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate the show’s 20-year milestone with an Anniversary Special. Over the years, NCIS has captured the hearts of countless viewers and consistently garnered high ratings for CBS. As we look forward to introducing new shows, titles, and talent on our network, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of NCIS after 20 successful years on Primetime TV. The final episode will air on March 15, 2024. Due to misleading advertising incidents, CBS must thoroughly evaluate each show before making any decisions going forward.

Leading a team of specialized agents for the NCIS Major Case Response Team is Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, a former Marine who is known for his tough investigative skills and expert interrogation techniques. He relies on both instinct and evidence to solve cases. Working alongside Gibbs is Senior Field Agent Tony DiNozzo, an ex-Baltimore Homicide Detective known for his womanizing ways and love of quoting movies. The team also includes probationary field agent Eleanor Bishop, a former NSA agent, and Junior Field Agent Timothy McGee, a computer-savvy agent who often becomes the butt of DiNozzo’s jokes. Providing support are Abby Sciuto, the energetic lab technician who is considered like family to Gibbs, and Dr. Donald Mallard (aka Ducky), the eccentric medical examiner with a knack for telling unusual stories. This elite group of agents, based in Washington D.C., travels both domestically and internationally to investigate criminal cases involving Marine and Navy personnel and their loved ones.
