Nighthawks (1981) is an American neo-noir action crime thriller film directed by Bruce Malmuth. An undercover NYPD Detective Sergeant Deke DaSilva of the Street Crimes Unit thwarts three armed attackers, with the help of his partner, Detective Sergeant Matthew Fox. DaSilva chases and subdues one of the assailants in a subway station before heading to London where a department store bombing takes place. Upon returning to New York City, DaSilva and Fox execute a high-risk warrant in the Bronx, uncovering corrupt police officers among drug dealers. After successfully making arrests, DaSilva expresses his love for his estranged wife Irene and they eventually reconcile after initially being rebuffed.
At a party, Wulfgar connects with a member of his network to obtain travel documents and funds. But, he becomes wary of the delivery person and ends up taking his life, along with three officers from the Metropolitan Police Service who were chasing him. He manages to flee, causing the police superintendent to lash out at Inspector Hartman, who was leading the investigation. Meanwhile in Paris, Wulfgar reunites with Shakka, his partner, but discovers that his superiors are avoiding him due to their involvement in a bombing that killed innocent children. In order to change his appearance, Wulfgar undergoes facial surgery and makes plans to move his terrorist activities to New York City. As for DaSilva and Fox, they are reassigned by Lt. Munafo to ATAC (Anti-Terrorist Action Command) where they are introduced to Hartman once again.
