No Time to Die (2021)

A young Madeleine Swann witnesses the murder of her mother by Lyutsifer Safin, whose family was assassinated by Swann’s father Mr. White under orders from Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Swann shoots Safin, but he survives and rescues her when she falls through a frozen lake. In the present, after the arrest of Blofeld, Swann is in Matera with James Bond, who has retired from MI6. She asks Bond to visit the grave of his ex-lover Vesper Lynd, where he narrowly survives an explosion orchestrated by Spectre operatives, led by Primo, a mercenary with a bionic eye. Bond evades further assassination attempts and escapes with Swann, but he believes that Swann betrayed him, so he forces her to board a train out of Matera, ending their relationship. Five years later, Spectre agents kidnap MI6 scientist Valdo Obruchev and steal Project Heracles, a secret weapon developed under M’s oversight that consists of nanobots which spread through skin contact to execute targets based on DNA.

Bond, living in Jamaica, is contacted by CIA ally Felix Leiter and Leiter’s State Department colleague Logan Ash, who ask for Bond’s help extracting Obruchev from a Spectre party in Cuba. Bond declines, but reconsiders after Nomi, the new 007, warns him not to get involved and puts him in contact with M, who refuses to answer his questions about Heracles. Bond infiltrates the Spectre party alongside Paloma, an agent assisting Leiter. Blofeld oversees the party from Belmarsh through Primo’s bionic eye. He unleashes a Heracles aerosol to kill Bond, but Obruchev covertly reprogrammed Heracles under orders from Safin, and it kills the Spectre members instead. With Paloma’s help, Bond foils Nomi’s extraction of Obruchev and takes him to Ash and Leiter, who have hidden on a secluded trawler. Ash, secretly working for Safin, mortally wounds Leiter before triggering explosives and fleeing with Obruchev while Bond escapes the sinking ship.
