«Real life is impossible without adventure!»
Once upon a time, magic reigned in a fairy-tale world, but after the discovery of electricity, magicians became unnecessary, and development went along the technogenic path. Now elves, trolls, goblins, manticores, fairies, centaurs and unicorns fly on airplanes, use cars and mobile phones and lead a generally prosperous life. The elf brothers Ian and Barley Lightfoot were raised by one mother because their father died when they were still very young. On his 16th birthday, Ian gets his father’s staff, and a magic spell that should bring him back to life for one day, but the magic crystal disappears, resurrecting only the lower half of the pope. Barley, a big fan of quests, is incredibly happy – having grabbed half-dad, the brothers embark on an adventure in search of another crystal.
It seemed Pixar has long established itself as a great animation studio, capable of any achievements. But in order for this, no, thank you, not everyone can show such perseverance! And it’s not in the world of magic, which has long lost this thread of magic, not in cyanotic elves or unicorn dogs, picking up from the tanks. This cartoon is certainly good, but the most attractive is the moral of the picture – courage.
