Our Man Flint (1966) is a humorous take on the popular James Bond film series. The director behind this spy-fi comedy was Daniel Mann. The protagonist, Derek Flint, is a former member of Z.O.W.I.E., or the Zonal Organization World Intelligence Espionage. He is called back into action when a global organization known as Galaxy, led by three deranged scientists (Doctor Krupov, Doctor Wu, and Doctor Schneider), threatens the world. These scientists are fed up with the state of world governments and demand that all nations surrender to Galaxy. In order to make their point clear, they use their climate-control technology to create natural disasters such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, forcing countries to disarm and stop using nuclear power for electricity.

Despite his initial reluctance, Flint eventually agrees to take on the group after narrowly avoiding an attempt on his life. The culprit is none other than Gila, a section head at Galaxy, who poses as a harpist at the restaurant where Flint is dining with Leslie, Anna, Gina, and Sakito – his live-in partners. Using a harp string as a weapon, Gila shoots a poisoned dart that misses Flint but hits his former boss Cramden. With quick thinking, Flint extracts the poison from Cramden’s wound and saves his life. The tainted dart leads him to Marseille in search of bouillabaisse. At a rundown club in Marseille, Flint engineers a fight to obtain intel from ‘famous’ Agent 0008 about Galaxy’s activities – specifically their drug trafficking operation.
