Overboard (2018)
Overboard (2018) is an American romantic comedy film directed by Rob Greenberg, with a screenplay written by Bob Fisher and Leslie Dixon. Kate Sullivan, a widowed mother of three studying to be a nurse, works two jobs. While cleaning carpets on spoiled playboy Leo Montenegro’s yacht, he makes offensive remarks and fires her for refusing to fetch him food. When she confronts him about his behavior, he shoves her off the boat with her cleaning equipment. Meanwhile, in Mexico, Leo’s sisters Magdalena and Sofia care for their sick father who appoints Leo as his company’s new leader. That same night, Leo falls off the yacht into the ocean and loses his memory. He wakes up on a beach and stumbles through town until he is taken to the hospital.
After finding him, Magdalena leaves the man behind when she discovers he has amnesia. She returns home with an urn containing campfire ashes and lies about his death to obtain control of the family business. Later, Kate and her friend Theresa see a news report about the man’s memory loss. To make up for taking advantage of him earlier, they pretend he is married to Kate. They visit him at the hospital and confirm their deception by pointing out a tattoo of Speedy Gonzales on his buttocks, which Kate had noticed on the yacht. Kate takes him to her house and introduces him to her children, fabricating details about their supposed life together. She also arranges for him to work a strenuous construction job through Theresa’s husband Bobby as compensation for his previous actions towards them.
