The Penguins of Madagascar (2008–2015) is a collaborative effort between DreamWorks Animation and Nickelodeon, featuring familiar faces from the animated film Madagascar: Skipper, Rico, Kowalski, Private, King Julien, Maurice, Mort, Mason, and Phil. Joining the gang are new characters Marlene and zookeeper Alice. This marks the first partnership between Nicktoons and DreamWorks Animation, with executive producers Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle at the helm. The duo also created Buzz Lightyear of Star Command and Disney Channel’s Kim Possible.
A group of penguins, including Skipper, Kowalski, Rico, and Private, reside in Central Park Zoo and embark on various missions. However, their dominance is threatened when a new resident, Julien the King of the Lemurs, arrives at the zoo, resulting in a sequel to the popular animated films.
