Directed by Carrie Cracknell and written by Ron Bass and Alice Victoria Winslow, it features a star-studded cast including Dakota Johnson, Cosmo Jarvis, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Mia McKenna-Bruce, Richard E. Grant, and Henry Golding. The film premiered in theaters on July 8 before its streaming release on July 15 by Netflix. However, it received predominantly negative reviews for its modern take on the story and for the main character Anne Elliott breaking the fourth wall to connect with the audience.
