The fantasy adventure film, Peter Pan (2003), was co-directed and written by P. J. Hogan and Michael Goldenberg. Set in Edwardian London, the story follows Wendy Darling as she tells her younger brothers, John and Michael, tales of Captain Hook and his pirates. One night, as Wendy shares her stories with her brothers, Peter Pan overhears from outside their nursery window. However, not everyone is impressed with Wendy’s imaginative tales. Concerned about her future prospects, Aunt Millicent urges the Darlings to focus on more practical matters. Meanwhile, at school, Wendy’s teacher catches her drawing a picture of Peter. In an attempt to prevent a disciplinary letter from being sent to her father, Wendy ends up causing a bit of chaos when Nana the dog chases after her at the bank. As Peter desperately searches for his shadow that was bitten off by Nana earlier, he forms a friendship with Wendy who helps sew it back onto him.

As thanks for her help, Peter invites Wendy and her brothers to join him in Neverland so she can share her stories with his gang of Lost Boys. Using Tinker Bell’s fairy dust, the four fly to Neverland, while Nana alerts Mr. and Mrs. Darling of what has happened. In the land of adventure, Captain Hook and his pirate crew soon attack the children. Tinker Bell betrays Wendy, prompting the Lost Boys to mistake her for a bird and shoot her down. But fortunately, Peter’s gift of an acorn saves Wendy from disaster. After banishing Tinker Bell, Peter takes on the role of father to the Lost Boys while Wendy becomes their mother at their request. Meanwhile, John and Michael meet Tiger Lily, a Native American princess who joins them on their journey to the Black Castle with Hook and his crew in pursuit. In a daring rescue mission led by Peter, Wendy and the Lost Boys save their siblings as Hook is chased by his old foe, the crocodile.
