Pitch Perfect 3 (2017)

The American musical comedy film, Pitch Perfect 3 (2017), was directed by Trish Sie and written by Kay Cannon and Mike White. The third installment of the ‘Pitch Perfect’ franchise starts off somewhere off the coast of France. On a yacht, the Bellas perform Britney Spears’ “Toxic” for three men. As they finish, Fat Amy bursts through the ceiling and sprays the men with a fire extinguisher, causing an explosion. Quickly jumping ship, the movie then opens with a snapshot of the title PITCH PERFECT 3 (opening sequence). This scene is three weeks earlier. John and Gail are tracking Beca for their documentary on the Bellas, making their usual snarky comments. Beca is currently employed as a music producer for the rapper Pimp-Lo, who may not be the sharpest tool in the shed.

When Beca submits a track featuring her backup vocals, both Pimp-Lo and her boss express their desire for the song to solely feature his lyrics. This lack of collaboration and support frustrates Beca, causing her to resign from her position. After breaking the news to her roommate Fat Amy, who initially believes she was fired, it is revealed that Beca recently ended things with Jesse due to the difficulties of maintaining a long-distance relationship. Similarly, Fat Amy has also broken up with her former beau Bumper. The group receives an unexpected visit from their friend Chloe, who informs them about a Bella reunion performance happening that evening. Upon meeting up with their fellow Bellas – Aubrey, Cynthia-Rose, Stacie, Lilly, Flo , Jessica, and Ashley – Emily arrives with her own singing group.
