One night, he discovers that the notorious Jack and Jill have the magic beans he has been searching for. These beans are said to lead to a giant’s castle and its precious golden goose eggs. However, when Puss tries to steal the beans from their hideout, he is interrupted by another cat named Kitty Softpaws. As it turns out, she was also hired by Humpty Alexander Dumpty, Puss’ old childhood friend from the orphanage they grew up in together in San Ricardo. Puss explains how he has been on the run ever since Humpty tricked him into participating in a failed bank robbery.
After convincing Puss to join them in their quest for the beans and the golden eggs, Humpty finally earns his trust. Despite his initial resentment towards Humpty, Puss gradually warms up to him as his relationship with Kitty blossoms into something romantic. The trio successfully obtains the beans from Jack and Jill, which they later plant in the desert. They then climb the beanstalk into the clouds and enter the giant’s castle. Here, Humpty reveals that although the giant is long gone, they must still beware of the ‘Great Terror’ who guards the precious eggs. Realizing that the golden eggs are too heavy for them to carry, they decide to steal the Golden Goose after witnessing its remarkable ability to lay miniature golden eggs. The group makes a daring escape from the castle before cutting down the beanstalk. After celebrating their victory, they are suddenly ambushed by Jack and Jill, resulting in Puss being knocked unconscious.
